My selection as a WELL global advisor

Kate Spina (nutritionist and consultant chef) has been selected by the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™) to be part of the 2022 WELL Nourishment advisory. Kate joins a select group of leading industry professionals who will guide the continuous evolution of concepts in the WELL Building Standard™ (WELL™), the premier building rating system focusing exclusively on the impacts of buildings on human health and wellness.

WELL concept advisories consist of leading global subject matter experts, practitioners and users across the fields of public health, design, building and medical science.

Advisors will work with the IWBI Standard Development team throughout the year to help ensure that WELL continues to align with the latest industry research, meets user needs and raises the bar for healthy, high-performing buildings around the world.

About IWBI and WELL

The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) is leading the global movement to transform our buildings and communities in ways that help people thrive. WELL is focused exclusively on the ways that buildings and communities, and everything in them, can improve our comfort, drive better choices, and generally enhance, not compromise, our health and wellness. IWBI convenes and mobilizes the wellness community through management of the WELL AP credential, the pursuit of applicable research, the development of educational resources, and advocacy for policies that promote health and wellness everywhere. My WELL experience

As the in-house nutritionist for Food Rascal, a progressive boutique caterer and food consulting company, I helped implement the WELL Nourishment concept at Lendlease's global headquarters at International Tower Three in Barangaroo, Sydney. It is the first WELL New & Existing Interiors Project Type to gain the top level platinum ranking in Australia and the largest globally.
